Santorini Highlights

This itinerary takes you to the island of everyone's Greek island dreams. We see it as the ultimate bucket list trip.

You'll start in where we think every first timer to Greece should start: the stunning island of Santorini, famous for it's whitewashed cliff-side villages and it's romantic sunsets. It's the perfect place to relax and acclimate from your transatlantic journey. Discover the flavors of this once volcanic island and watch the sunset from your caldera view balcony.  For the more adventuresome we can arrange a private or semi-private sunrise or sunset fishing trip as well as private walking tours through the villages and vineyards on the island's interior.

Welcome to Santorini

Welcome to Santorini

The island's beauty has been waxed lyrical over the years, fully earning the epithet ""kalliste"" (the most beautiful). Along with ""Strogili"", this was one of the former names lent to the island over its troubled history. Its history is one of battles and conquers, of a tragic eruption and a blossoming renaissence – events that haven't altered Santorini's charm but that undoubtedly scarred it.

Flavors of Santorini

Flavors of Santorini

The rocky land and the scarcity of water on Santorini provide the perfect environment for growing fruits and vegetables with great taste. Santorini offers a great variety of restaurants and tavernas and depending on your mood we have a few to suggest (that we have tried ourselves of course)! For a special treat ask us for our favorite Caldera side restaurant to enjoy dinner with a view.

Day 3

Breakfast in a cave

Perhaps today you are ready to experience something different and enjoy your breakfast in the hotel's breakfast room, a part of the original construction which includes a 400 year old cave.

Private fishing adventure

Private fishing adventure

Are you ready to experience the magic of a traditional fishing boat and discover how is it to be a fisherman for a day? Your captain and leader belongs to a family with a long tradition in fishing as her father is a well known fisherman in Santorini.

Pyrgos village

A different sunset spot!

Just seven and half kilometers south of Fira, a different side of Santorini emerges, an aspect that harkens back to the picturesque Greek villages of yesteryear. Here, the pace of life is more relaxed; cats stroll in the alleys, families dress up in their Sunday best to go to church, and piano lessons can be heard through the open windows of the cultural center. The main square, with its tall pine trees and quaint little coffee shops, is the focal point for socializing and entertainment. Regardless of the season, its busiest time is noon, when people gather for ouzo or Santorinian beer accompanied by excellent local meze.

Free morning to explore or relax in Santorini

Santorini is not only about relaxing and enjoying the breaktaking views - there are plenty of charming paths to stroll, either within the villages along the caldera, or in the center of the island where time seems to have stood still. It's also a good time to visit the archeological museum in Fira, for a chance to see the actual mosaics you saw reproduced at Akrotiri.
